PMS

pms

It’s not all in your head! If there’s evidence of nerve compromise to your reproductive organs, chiropractic care may help.

The relationship between PMS and chiropractic may not be immediately evident, but may women undergoing particularly severe cases of premenstrual syndrome have seen improvements in their overall reproductive health when under the care of a chiropractor – as well as a primary physician. To make the relationship clear, you need to understand precisely what is happening during PMS, and the role that the central nervous system and spinal issues play in alleviating the symptoms.

PMS and the Central Nervous System

PMS is characterized by a host of symptoms in many women, to varying degrees. Some of them are physical, and many others are psychological and include a general irritability during that time of the month, sadness and fatigue. Headaches and joint soreness comprise some of the physical symptoms, and for women with at least five of a well-defined set of associated symptoms, doctors often diagnose them with PMDD– which is Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder.

The central nervous system is your in-built regulator of bodily organs, tissues and cells. Because the nerves that convey messages to other parts of your body are tied directly into this central nervous system, which is also tied to your spine, misalignments in this region can exacerbate an occurrence of PMS. Chiropractic involves correcting posture and assuaging discomfort and pain associated with vertebral imbalance, which necessarily confers benefits to women suffering from symptoms of PMS (in countless cases).

As a woman, your reproductive system depends on the health of your central nervous system. Depending on the extent to which it is compromised, you can experience infertility, skipped periods, or excessive cramping and bleeding. When you use chiropractic along with primary medical care, you significantly increase your chances of restoring normal function to your central nervous system.

The Promise of Chiropractic

Encourage someone you know suffering with PMS to give chiropractic a try. An undetected subluxation may be the culprit.

If you, or someone you love, is put out of commission every month, encourage her to come in for a thorough chiropractic examination. If there’s nerve interference, there’s a good chance we can help.
