CHIROPRACTOR TODD HARRISON, DC

BIRTH CAN BE A SPRAIN IN THE NECK

I was not born with a natural physiologic birth. There were complications, I was born one month pre-mature by c-section. I weighed only 5 pounds at birth and struggled for life. After the doctors did everything they could, I had been sent me home not knowing if I would survive. I would randomly stop breathing, and barely kept any food down.

At this point my parents didn't know what to do for me. Following the recommendation of a friend my parents took me to see Dr. Fuller, a Chiropractor. With nothing to lose and my life to gain they placed their trust in his hands and education. Following my first adjustment I kept my first meal down. After some follow up care my condition stabilized and I haven't quit thriving since.

I now know my problems as a newborn were a result of spinal misalignment that began at birth. The first vertebra (bone) in the neck when misaligned will place pressure on the brain stem. The brain stem controls basic body functions like breathing and swallowing, the two problems I struggled with.

WHY I AM A CHIROPRACTOR

As I grew up, I forgot about this early experience with chiropractic. In school I realized I had a knack for teaching others in a clear and understandable way. I decided I wanted to be a college professor and help kids get excited about chemistry. After completing my Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry at Northeastern State University I attended Oklahoma State University for graduate studies in Chemistry. I quickly realized I needed to help people in a different way than by being a teacher.

I was reminded of my life changing experience with chiropractic and realized I wanted to be a chiropractor. After earning a Master of Science degree in chemistry I moved to Dallas, Texas to attend Parker University. While attending Parker I completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Anatomy and another in Health and Wellness. In 2015 I graduated with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree and moved to Nampa, Idaho to open Harrison Family Chiropractic.

In my practice I enjoy being able to educate and help people. It is my mission to help as many people as I can to get back in the game of life by restoring and improving their function by way of the chiropractic adjustment.

Every day I am still amazed at how the human body can adapt and heal when it is communicating properly with itself. The innate intelligence our body uses to sustain life is truly a marvel and a wonder to me.
